Completion Ceremony

As a student reading your final semester at MDH you are invited to take part in the Completion Ceremony. The Ceremony is the University’s expression of thanks to you for your period of study. You may take part even if you still have complementary work to do in your studies and regardless of whether you have read a programme or corresponding freestanding courses.

The Completion Ceremony is arranged after every autumn and spring semester for you who are reading in your final semester at MDH. Invitations are sent out by email to students reading in their final semester at one of our programmes. If you are reading at a faster pace or have read individual courses corresponding to a programme, you aren’t listed in the same way as programme students, but you are of course welcome to sign up.

All students are welcome to the Ceremony provided they sign up in time and have received acknowledgement of their registration. After the final registration date, the number of ceremonies is planned based on the number of registered students. Therefore there will be no opportunity for late registration or registering on the day.

At the Ceremony Vice-Chancellor Paul Pettersson and the appropriate Dean of School will give speeches. Students from the Academy of Chamber Music and Opera at Mälardalen University will perform and there will be speeches given by MDH alumni. The Completion Ceremony is voluntary and no formal documents are handed out in connection with the Ceremony. Every student must themselves apply for a degree certificate on completion of their studies.

You are cordially invited to celebrate this day with your relatives and you may invite up to two named guests, regardless of age. After the ceremony you will be treated to coffee with gluten-free and lactose-free cake. In case of other dietary preferences, fruit will be served.

Registration

The registration to participate in our ceremonies which will be held on January 27 and 28 2021, will open in the fall off 2020.
