Application for courses and programmes offered at Mälardalen University is done through www.universityadmissions.se, which is the official website for applying for all higher education in Sweden. During the admission periods you can also find a button on each programme page called "Apply for this programme".

Most of our programmes have one intake per year, in early September. The application period opens in mid October the year before and the official deadline is in mid January.

The programmes cover a variety of subject areas and are strongly interrelated with the research environments of the university. You can expect education of very high quality and you will have close contact with your teachers and fellow students. We design our study programmes in cooperation with business and society; guaranteeing the high quality of our education and making our students attractive employees. At MDH you decide who to become after your studies.

As a foreign student, different options are available at Mälardalen University depending on the degree level you would like to study. You can study with us as an exchange student and as a course or a degree student.

Students who are citizens of countries outside the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, are required to pay a tuition fee for studies in Sweden.

Credit transfer

If you have previous studies from a Swedish or foreign university, you can apply to have this credited at Mälardalen University. Other education and vocational activities may also be considered for accreditation.
