Background

The goal of the project is to extend our knowledge about the risks with particle exposure in the form of dust in the working environment, We want to understand which risks that are specific to individual work environments, but also which risks come with a dusty environment in general. The project is based on measurements gathered from industries with a high particle exposure, including welding, foundries, hard metal industries and additive manufacturing, but also which biological effects that particle exposure in general gives rise to.

Overall aim

The purpose of the project is to increase our knowledge about the risks related to particle exposure at work. We want to understand which risks that are specific to some work environments, but also which risks that are inherent with working in a dusty environment in general.

Project goals

To extend our knowledge about the risks with particle exposure at work and which biological processes that are central with exposure. We also expect to get data about which biological markers that may be used to indicate risky exposure.

Project activities

The main part of the research work will be done at the members own organisations with monthly webb meetings and some physical meetings. Presentation of results will be made through scientific publications and international conferences, while popular science summaries will be published at the research groups own pages.
The majority of the work will be conducted at the project members organizations in Örebro, Västerås and Linköping.
