Application numbers continue to rise at MDH

The application statistics for the spring term 2015 have come, and the positive trend in terms of increasing numbers of applicants continues. At MDH, the numbers have risen by almost four percent.


The total number of people having applied for MDH’s courses or study programs in the spring term 2015 is 15 206. That’s an increase by 559 individuals, or 3.8 percent, since the spring term 2014, when 14 647 people had applied for a course or program. The total number of applicants for first-cycle programs rose by 144 individuals this year.

The most popular programs

The program with most first choice applicants, 317, is the preschool program in Eskilstuna (distance education), while the nursing program in Södertälje (distance education) has the highest number of applicants overall.

The most popular courses

Just as in the spring 2014, the most popular course is To Develop Organizations and Leadership, with 879 first choice applicants and 1707 applicants in total.

Record numbers of applications in Sweden in general, but reduced offerings

The total number of applications for the spring term 2015 constitutes a new record in Sweden. registered 222 293 applications in total for the study programs and courses in the spring. Compared to 2014, that’s a national increase by two percent, or 3 431 applications.

On the national level, the choice of educational offerings has been reduced, however: compared to the spring term 2014, the number of available courses has decreased from 14 034 to 13 783 (minus two percent), and the number of programs from 570 to 559 (also minus two percent).
