Even more efforts in international student recruitment

The international interest to study at MDH is large and the number of international students applying is increasing. At the School of Business, Society and Engineering (EST) major efforts are made in international student recruitment and activities are made in for example Indonesia, Thailand, Mexico, The Netherlands, and Germany.

The International Coordinator at the School, Pablo Camacho Sanhueza, works every day to get more international students to discover MDH.

– International student recruitment is very important to us. It is a good way to enrich and raise the quality of our own education. Students from other countries have experiences from other countries and bring new perspectives and insights which develops our business, he says, and adds that at EST there are three programmes taught in English: The Bachelor’s programme in International Business Management, the Master’s programme in International Marketing, and the Master’s programme in Sustainable Energy Systems.

During autumn the School has for example attended fairs in Indonesia, Mexico, Thailand, The Netherlands and within short also Germany.

– Yes, we haven’t prioritised these countries before but we have indications on that there is an interest for Sweden there, why we have chosen to put extra efforts on marketing MDH as a brand among others through fairs. So far it’s not possible to say whether our attendance pays off but the visitors seemed interested and I am hopeful for a positive outcome.

In association with a couple of the fairs, among others in Thailand, the School has taken the opportunity to reconnect valuable contact with former students – alumni – now working in their home countries.

Receipt for hiqh quality

Last year MDH was granted an EPAS accreditation for the Bachelor’s programme in International Business Management and the Master’s programme in International Marketing. EPAS (EFMD Programme Accreditation System) is an international accreditation system evaluating business programmes on Bachelor’s and Master’s level. To recieve an EPAS accreditation is a receipt of the high quality of the programmes and that they do well from an international perspective.
