Västmanland County Council
MDH and Västmanland County Council have, since 2014, an extended cooperation within the framework of the Social Contract.
The Social Contract is an agreement to have a deeper cooperation between the city of Västerås, Eskilstuna municipality, Västmanland County Council, Sörmland County Council and Mälardalen University. The agreement is in effect until 2017 with a budget of 61 million Swedish Kronor.
The first joint effort is the research and development programme VÄLKOM. Autumn 2014 marked the start of substudies that focus on how municipalities and county councils can recruit social workers and nurses and retain them as occupational groups.
The purpose of the Social Contract is to raise the level of competence in the region through:
- joint research and development projects
- education that matches the need of the employers
- meeting places for learning
The Social Contract focuses on school, health care, sustainable urban development and the workforce of tomorrow – for the good of the region!
