Several of the study programmes that students at MDH read are interesting when the Volvo Group is to recruit employees. Therefore MDH students now have the opportunity to apply for the internship programme Volvo Group International Internship Program (VGIIP), an internship programme for students at specially selected universities and university colleges around the world.

VGIIP is an internship programme for students at universities and university colleges with whom the Volvo Group has signed the cooperation agreement, Talent Partner. MDH and the Volvo Group have another type of agreement, called Preferred Research Partner, an agreement which only five HEIs in the world have, but now the Volvo Group is opening the internship programme to MDH students as well.

- Several of the study programmes existing at MDH are interesting when we are recruiting people within the Volvo concern. Therefore we decided to give MDH students the opportunity to apply as well, says Paulina Persdotter Örtendahl, Director Attract and Recruit, Volvo Group.

MDH students have the opportunity to apply for the internship places available at various departments within the Volvo concern, in France, India, Japan and the USA, among others. These places can have varying and specific requirements depending on the nature of the internship assignment. The length of the internship varies between two and six months and is intended for students studying in their final year of a Bachelor’s programme or who are reading a Master’s programme. The idea of the internship is to give the student an insight into Volvo’s organisation and activities, as well as the experience of travelling to a new country and meeting a new culture.

- As a student on placement you have the opportunity to do real work, and apart from the experience, you create new contacts that can be extremely valuable for doing your degree project or when applying for a job. Moreover, you get paid during your internship, says Mathilda Kaså Taranger, Global Program Manager, Volvo Group International Internship Program.

The internship places are advertised during November 2017, but the last date of application varies. More information about the internship programme, the places and the admission process can be found on the Volvo Group’s website.
