An open and inspiring venue that harmonizes with the bathhouse. This is how Mälardalen University's new campus in Eskilstuna is described by the winner of the architectural competition.

The winning proposal, called MDH torget, was presented at a ceremony at MDH in Eskilstuna. The winning architectural firm, Danish 3XN, were present and received a diploma from the chairperson of the jury, Dag Johansson.

During the spring, six architectural firms have competed with their proposals for new campuses in Eskilstuna. A jury has been assessing the proposals, including the basis of design, functionality and practicality.

- We believe very much in MDH torget. Our students will get a creative and functional learning environment, and Eskilstuna will get a modern educational centre, said MDH's Director of Campus Affairs, Elin S Olander.
