New parking rules at MDH Västerås

Jan 09, 2014 | Student

The university has been informed by the landowner Hemsö that Q-Park is now in charge of part of the parking area by the Västerås campus starting from 1 January 2014. This means that there are two different providers with different ticket systems, Q-Park and the City of Västerås. The parking permits of staff and students will remain valid. Please note that monthly tickets whoch were bought before the change of tickets system, are valid until 20 January, including within Q-parks area.

New ticket machines are now placed in the parking areas run by Q-Park. If you have already bought a monthly ticket, therefore, you cannot park in Q-Park parking areas but will have to get a new monthly ticket which is valid for their parking areas. According to Q-Park, their rates may differ slightly from the rates of the City of Västerås.

– We are obviously not happy about different ticket systems and we have started a dialogue with Q-Park to make the situation as trouble-free as possible for staff and students, says Elin S. Olander, Director of Campus Affairs at MDH.
