Elena Bogdanova is a new visiting researcher at Mälardalen University and she will be at the School of Health, Care and Social Welfare up to and including February.
During her time at Mälardalen University Elena Bogdanova, from the Northern Arctic Federal University in north-western Russia, will be comparing methods and preventive strategies for occupational safety and health at workplaces in Sweden and Russia. In addition to this, Elena is seeking to develop new ideas and measures to improve safety and health at work.
She chose Sweden for several reasons, among others because Sweden is a leader in this field of research. And she applied to Mälardalen University in particular since she was interested in cooperation with researchers at the School of Health, Care and Social Welfare.
– Sweden has developed a successful system for occupational safety and health. Sweden is a country with a focus on high technology. In this case, detailed studies of experiences within this area would be of great benefit to the Russian shipbuilding industry and the mechanical industry sector as a whole, says Elena Bogdanova, and continues:
– Staying in Sweden for a post-doc programme will enable me to learn the Swedish language. And being at work in Sweden is very important for international cooperation in scientific and cultural fields.
