Björn Stigson, who has previously worked at ABB, has had many contacts with Västerås and Mälardalen University over the years.
- It’s a great honour for me now to be awarded an honorary doctorate, not least since my son Peter Stigson took a Ph.D. at Mälardalen University a year ago, says Björn and adds:
- For me it’s a strong token of recognition for the work that I and the WBCSD have been promoting to stimulate and boost the role of industry in creating a more sustainable world.
Writing about Paola Inverardi, who works at the University in L’Aquila in Italy, the University Faculty Board states among other things that she is “one of the internationally leading researchers in software technology” and that she has “initiated the University’s nowadays extensive and deep collaboration with the University in L’Aquila and has significantly contributed towards important decisions on both research and education at Mälardalen University.”
- I was very happy and surprised when I received the news that I had been awarded an honorary doctorate. I always try to do my job in the best way and suddenly to get such recognition from friends and colleagues at Mälardalen University feels fantastic, Paola Inverardi comments.
