Twice as many international students choose to study Master’s at MDH

The number of international applicants to MDH continues to grow, according to the latest statistics report. While there is an overall increase for all programmes the Master’s programmes stand out this year with a twofold increase of the number of first priority applicants.

A growing number of international students learn about MDH and choose to apply for the University’s programmes. For the advanced level programmes altoghether, the Master’s programmes that is, there is a 68 percent increase in the total number of applications. The number of students who have chosen MDH as their first priority has more than doubled since last year, with 103 percent. The largest increase can be seen from international students from outside the EU. There are 80 percent more applicants in that group.

On Bachelor’s level the increase is about 10 percent, both for the total number of applicants as well as for first priority applicants in the international application period.

– These are positive figures indicating that the University’s efforts in strengthening the brand and creating awareness around the world is bearing fruit. From this point on we work for making as many as possible of the students admitted being able to commence their studies. A lot of variables play parts but from our end at MDH there is support along the entire process. A steadily growing number of international students on campus is beneficial for all, says Vice Chancellor Paul Pettersson.

All programmes are still open for late applications on and students from EU/EEA also have the possibility to apply in the national application periods.
