This year’s mentor and protégé appointed

May 25, 2012 | Research/Cooperation

On 9 May the Career Plaza arranged an end-of-year evening for the employers and students who have participated in this year’s mentor programme. During the evening the titles of Mentor and Protégé of the Year were awarded to those who have had the most successful cooperation.

The winners were Stefan Svartström from FVB and Eva-Maj Johansson, who is studying for an M.Sc. degree in Engineering specialising in Energy Systems.

Verdict:

For mentorship with close contact and great commitment in both protégé and mentor. Apart from meetings in different environments this mentorship has resulted in both degree projects and employment – an outstanding example of what the advantages of mentorship can mean!

- The mentor programme has given me and FVB more than I ever could expect! says Stefan Svartström. I and my protégé have been in close contact during the mentorship period, which has been very stimulating, challenging and rewarding. Through the mentor programme FVB has found a future energy consultant with development potential. Eva-Maj is starting with us on 1 June!

Eva-Maj was also very pleased with her time as a protégé.

- I got ideas for a degree project from Stefan, a degree project I am now in the final stages of and which I hope will be of use to FVB in the future. I have also had the opportunity to go with Stefan on visits to customers and to be allowed to help in his projects. I think we’ve had a perfect mentor programme which has led us to going from being a mentor and protégé to being colleagues.
