The admissions statistics after selection 1: Fewer students admitted compared to last year
Dec 11, 2013 | Education
The number of students admitted to MDH for the spring semester 2014 has decreased compared to last year. One reason is that MDH has cut down on the number of courses and programmes. The number of students on the reserve list has increased, however.
The admissions statistics after selection 1 have now been completed. A total of 9 606* students have been admitted to MDH courses and programmes for the spring, which can be compared with 10 693 students admitted for the spring semester of 2013. However, the number of students on the reserve list is higher. MDH offers fewer courses and programmes now compared to the spring semester of 2013. The decrease involves over 180 course/programme openings.
475 students have been admitted to first-cycle programmes compared to 515 last year. For the spring, MDH has 4 713 students on the reserve list compared to 3 686 for last spring. All first-cycle programmes have students on the reserve list. The Primary School Teacher Education Programme in Västerås (distance course) has the greatest number of students, 957 individuals, on the reserve list.
These are some of the most popular courses:
- Developing Organisations and Leadership with 200 admitted students and 1 032 persons on the reserve list
- Physical Activity and Health with 75 admitted students and 523 persons on the reserve list
- Introduction to Work Life Psychology with 80 admitted students and 437 persons on the reserve list
*Please note that the numbers do not represent individuals, since one person can be admitted to or placed on the reserve list for several different search alternatives (course and programme openings).
