A chance to represent MDH and become a Global Swede

Mar 04, 2015 | Student Alumni

Each year MDH nominates an international student as Global Swede. The Global Swede will function as a link between Sweden and his or her home country and becomes a valuable representative for both MDH and Sweden. An official diploma ceremony hosted by representatives from the Swedish Government is held in Stockholm in May.

The Global Swede will become both a representative for MDH in the short term, but will hopefully also become an important connection for Swedish trade and industry in the future. The nominated candidate from MDH as well as Global Swede candidates from other universities will be invited to an official ceremony in Stockholm to receive the Global Swede diploma. The Minister of Enterprise and Innovation, Mikael Damberg, will be handing out the diplomas, and the Ambassadors from the countries where the Globals Swedes are from are also invited.

Apply by writing a letter that describes why you should become our Global Swede. In your letter please describe how you fulfill the following requirements:

  • In the final year of your study programme at Mälardalen University
  • Citizen in a country outside the EU/EEA
  • Good academic results
  • Skills in innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship within your field of study
  • Ability to function as an outgoing, motivated and committed ambassador for Mälardalen University and for Sweden

The Global Swede nominated by MDH is expected to represent the University in student recruiting activities when possible, and also to register as a Mälardalen University alumni.

Please send your application to johanna.forsstrom@mdh.se  by 22 March 2015 at the latest.
