eduroam is basically a mutual service agreement between member organisations within the education and research community. Essentially this means that the members agree to provide internet access on their campuses to visiting students and staff members from other member organisations.

To be able to connect to eduroam, the user needs a user account (from a member organisation) and a computer with a wireless network card. Further, the computer needs to be configured with the correct client and the correct settings.
