  • The goal of the ESS-H profile is that academia and industry together achieve a significant increase in research in the area of embedded sensor systems for health performed at Mälardalen University and participating companies, and that ESS-H is established as a nationally leading and an internationally renowned research center for embedded sensor systems for health.

  • The ESS-H+ profile will aim for an increased specialization, a significant progression, and raised scientific ambitions, as compared to ESS-H, through deepened co-production with our partner companies within one integrated Focus Area: Sensor systems for health monitoring/monitoring of humans.

  • From a scientific point of view, the ITS ESS-H graduate school will contribute to important application areas where the aims are to improve human health and minimize human suffering, and to provide reliable sensor systems for industrial use, also in safety-critical applications.

  • The main idea behind the project is towards retention of a sustainable production environment within Sweden, by minimizing outsourcing and creating more job opportunities. In addition, the reduction in alcohol related traffic fatalities will potentially save 1000s of lives worldwide each year.
