Economic Sciences focus on research on Industrial Renewal, whereby we mean the act, process, content, and outcome of renewal related to industry, i.e. business and commerce. Radical industrial renewal can often not be successful without changes in the supporting infrastructure that society offers, as well as in institutions and values, and this is why industrial renewal cannot be studied apart from its cultural context.
To clarify the meaning of the concept of Industrial Renewal the unit edited the book: Studies in Industrial Renewal: Coping with Changing Contexts
Economic Sciences employ 48 researchers and teachers, of whom four are professors, have 1150 FTE students and 15 doctoral students. A doctoral education programme is offered through the research subject of Industrial Economics and Management.
