NMP – New Management Practices
The second largest group in Industrial Economics and Organization is a group of researchers focusing on New Management Practices, i.e. new forms, patterns of action, processes, action nets and ideas through which management is performed in, and around, organizations today.
The group has its foundation in organization studies, management and leadership theories and takes an interest in contemporary forms of leadership, entrepreneurship, temporary organizations, decision making, organizational learning and in the performative nature of organizing, for example in the organizing of cities. There is also an interest in methodology and for Management as an academic discipline as well as a work practice.
The NMP group has several on-going co-operations with other universities (nationally and internationally), as well as with companies and public organizations, primarily in the Mälardalen region.
Research is carried out from the perspective that reality is processual, which means that management practices are seen as social and relational phenomena. The group also applies critical theoretical perspectives in order to highlight ethical dimensions. The overall purpose with the group’s work is to renew management practices through co-productive, critical and interpretative approaches
