About third-cycle (research) studies

Since 2001, the University offers third-cycle engineering programmes. In 2012 we also started research studies in Health and Welfare. Research studies also take place in the humanities, as well as in the natural and the social sciences.

Research studies today are organised into six areas in which the University has been granted degree-awarding powers for research studies.

  • Embedded Systems

 (Studies are conducted within the subjects of Electronics as well as Computer Science and Engineering) 

  • Innovation and Product Realisation

  (Studies are conducted within the subject of Innovation and Design)

  • Environment, Energy and Resource Optimisation

  (Studies are conducted within the subjects of Energy- and Environmental Engineering as well as Mathematics and Applied Mathematics)

  • Industrial Economics and Organisations along with Working Life Studies

   (Studies are conducted within the subjects of Industrial Economics and Organisations as well as Working Life Studies)

  • Didactics

 (Studies are conducted within the subjects of Didactics as well as Natural Science and Technology Didactics)

  • Health and Welfare

 (Studies are conducted within the subject of Care Sciences, Social Work as well as Working Life Studies)
