Third-cycle studies can be funded indifferent ways; the important point is that funding is guaranteed during the entire period of studies and that the studies can be completed within eight years, equivalent to four years of full-time studies.

The most common form of funding is by employment as a doctoral student. A lot of research students at MDH are financed as industrial doctoral students, as they are known, i.e. they have employment outside the University.

A few research students are financed via scholarships. MDH, on the other hand, have chosen not to use this form of scholarship funding.

As a guideline at MDH funding, regardless of its source, shall correspond at least to same conditions that apply concerning employment as a doctoral student.
