About me – Mahsa Daraei

I am a PhD student within Future Energy Center (FEC) and SOFIA research group at MDH. My research is a part of the SYDPOL project, which is in collaboration with Mälarenergi in Västerås and Eskilstuna Energi och Miljö.

Background

I graduated with a bachelor degree in chemical engineering from Babol University of Technology, Iran in 2013 and I have a MSc in sustainable energy systems from MDH. I have done my master thesis within BillerudKorsnäs, a pulp and paper mill in Gävle, Sweden. The focus of the work was on predicting the wood chemical properties and pulp quality using near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy.

I am currently a doctoral student at MDH. The focus of the project is on optimization of integrated energy systems including combined heat and power (CHP) plants, biofuel production plants, and renewable resources.

Research interests

  • Optimization.
  • Production planning and strategy.
  • Polygeneration and Integrated energy system.
