The Swedish Parliament has today made a decision regarding the new Research and Innovation Bill, thereby giving the go-ahead to confer university status on MDH.

We are evaluating our research in order to strengthen and develop

An external research evaluation of all research conducted at MDH is currently underway. To assist us in this matter, national and international experts will work in different ways to examine the University's various research domains. The aim of the evaluation is to identify the strengths, develop our various research environments and further raise the quality of our research.

Sustainable development goals

On 1 January 2016, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development officially came into force. Over the next fifteen years countries will mobilize efforts to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change. This is how MDH work with the sustainable development goals.

Online courses for professionals allow more people to study or change careers

The possibility to gain expertise through targeted CPD (continuing professional development) is today seen as vital in order to compete in a strong knowledge-driven technology shift. MDH is currently offering open online courses in subjects such as Augmented Reality (AR) and cyber security, where the target group is professionals and people who have been temporarily laid off in the manufacturing sector.

Researchers: “Take care of your mental health in the same way as your physical health”

Half of Sweden's population will suffer from poor mental health at some point in their lives, and the World Health Organization (WHO) expects it to be the largest disease burden in the world by 2030. “It is important that we learn to take care of our mental health, in the same way as we look after our physical health”, says Lena Wiklund Gustin, Professor of Caring Sciences at MDH, who conducts research in the subject.
