Checklist

This checklist has been designed to help you complete tasks recommended for new students.

Once you have received your admission decision, you must accept it before you can register. If you are admitted without having to respond, you can skip this step and proceed to step 2.

If you regret your choice of study programme, you must cancel your place. By doing so, you will allow another applicant to take your place.

If you have been admitted and have accepted a course or programme on antagning.se, you need a student account to be able to log in to computers, e-mail and other IT services. You can create your student account from 8 January. It may take up to 6 hours before your account is created.

If you have been admitted to a course or programme, you must register, or you will lose your place. Registration for the semester term 2023 is open between 8 January and 21 January.

For courses starting later in the semester, registration will opens one week before the start of the course and close on the Sunday of the same week as the start of the course.

If you have been admitted to a programme, you must register for the course(s) in the programme, then you will be automatically registered for the programme and the place is yours.

If you have been admitted after the end of the registration period, you can email studenttorget@mdu.se for help with registration.

Remember to check that your contact information in Ladok is updated when you register.

The MDU card is a personal card that you use to enter the campus, the University premises and to print. It is also your travel pass for the free buses than run between the Eskilstuna and Västerås campuses. If you need an MDU card, you can order it after you have registered.

Welcome to the introduction for new students! The introduction consists of three parts:

  • Introduction films with useful information about your studies.
  • The Welcoming - a great start to the semester for everyone at MDU, for both new and old students.
  • The student associations' rookie period.

You can search for your course or programme to get information about the location and when it starts. As a programme student, you will have both programme and course starts.

Studying with a disability

There are several types of support and adaptations available if you have a permanent disability or another type of disability, during your studies.

Support is available if you have for example dyslexia, ADHD, an autism spectrum disorder, permanent mental health issues or a chronic disease that affects your study situation. However certain forms of targeted study support require additional planning time. Therefore, it’s important to submit your application for support ahead of time, preferably as soon as you have been admitted to your course or programme.
