Welcome as a new student
Congratulations on making a good choice. An exciting time is about to start and the opportunities are plenty. Here are some things to keep in mind in order to get the best possible start as a student at MDH. You can follow the steps below if you already have a Swedish personal ID number. If not, please visit our website for international students.
1. Reply to your offer
You need to reply to your offer to keep your place. In case you regret your choice of studies please decline your offer on antagning.se. That way your seat can be given to another applicant.
2. Student account
When you have been admitted and have accepted your offer of a place on a programme or course at universityadmissions.se, you will need a student account in order to be able to log into computers, access course material, get into your email and use other IT resources. You can create your student account two weeks before the autumn term starts and one week before the spring term starts.
You must register for the course or programme you are to take in order to keep your place. The registration is open 13 to 26 January. Registration closes on Sunday the same week as the semester or course start.. If you have been admitted to a programme, you must register for the course(s) in the programme, which ensures that you will be automatically registered for the programme, and thereby the place is yours.
4. Order your university card
The university card is a personal card that all students get. You use it to gain access to the university premises, for printing, borrowing books from the library, and other things. It also serves as a ticket for the free buses between the Eskilstuna campus and the Västerås campus. You order your university card once you have registered for your programme or course. Note! It can take up to six hours after you have made a registration before you can order the card.
5. Introduction days
We welcome you to your studies and to our Introduction days. During the first day you will receive important information and a chance to get acquainted with both the university and the campus cities. During the day the student associations will host various activities.
The introduction continues day two with lectures, where we inform you about things that are good to know now that you're starting your studies. Please note that this introduction is held in Swedish.
6. Start of programmes and courses
The Autumn semester 2019 officially starts on 2 September. However, all the courses and programmes do not start on the same day. On the link below you can search for your course or your programme to see when it’s time to get going.
For the following three programmes you must also be physically present at the official roll call:
- The Physiotherapy Programme (GTV01)
- The Nursing Programme (GSE03, GSN03, GSV03)
- The Specialist Programme for Nurses (ZOJ22, ZOJ23, ZOJ24)
If you for some reason are unable to attend the roll call for any of the above programmes, you must inform us of this via The Admissions Office; otherwise you will lose your place. For all other programmes you ensure your place by registering on the first courses in the programme.
If you regret your choice of studies you must withdraw your application at universityadmissions.se. In this way you will enable another applicant to be admitted.
