RLP youth - reproductive life planning among adolescents

Postponement of parenthood has become common in Sweden and across the developed world. An increasing proportion of women and men plan to have children later in life, probably without being sufficiently aware of the increased risk of infertility and of adverse reproductive outcomes. There is a need to inform health professionals and the general public about the increased reproductive risks across a variety of outcomes associated with advanced parental age.

The overall aim of this research programme is to develop, evaluate and explore the use of a counselling tool called the reproductive life plan (RLP) in preconception health and care in Sweden. The aim is also to explore attitudes among patients and staff towards preconception genetic screening
