Do you dream about working with management in Multinational Enterprises (MNEs), such as ABB, Coca-Cola, Apple, H&M, Unilever, Volvo, Philips, Spotify, Meta, and Microsoft?

In this course, we aim to enhance your understanding of how Multinational Enterprises are managed through literature, lectures, debates, blogs, panels, conferences, and work placements. The course is advanced and thus demands a high effort and good time management from you and your groups. The various learning activities in this course provide you with multiple opportunities to examine different areas related to the issue of management in MNEs.

In the initial five weeks of the course, you will be presented with the task of analysing and debating the three main managerial issues and themes of the MNEs. These issues include coordination and control within the MNEs, knowledge transfer within the MNE, and responsibility within MNEs (ethics, responsibility, and sustainability). Each of the themes begins with a lecture, followed by a panel discussion with practitioners, and ends with you, the students, writing blog posts and engaging in debates related to the topic. After completing all three themes, you will have a home exam. The course then continues for another four weeks. During these weeks, you can choose to work on group projects or opt for an individual work placement track(What is a work placement? See here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-FUz-GH4xI). Finally, there will be a week dedicated to the final examination.

Please note that students who are interested in pursuing the work placement track must find a work placement themselves. They are required to submit a written page by the end of the first week of the course, in which they reflect on how the work placement can provide them with an opportunity to achieve the learning outcome of this course. In addition, they need to submit the online work placement agreement, which will be sent to them via email in the work placement folder to the course management team for approval.
