In this course, students will explore a combination of basic and advance topics in energy-efficient building design. Through lectures, case studies, and practical exercises, students will delve into key areas such as basic calculation models for building energy balance, principles of energy auditing, integration of energy flexibility and resilient systems, concepts of prosumers, and the design principles behind net-zero and plus-energy buildings. Additionally, the course will cover passive and active energy systems within buildings and provide insights into energy building modeling principles. By mastering these concepts, students will be equipped to take some roles their future career in shaping a more sustainable built environment, reducing environmental impact, and enhance energy efficiency in the building industry.
