The Sörmland Contract is a collaboration between Eskilstuna Municipality, Eskilstuna Fabriksförening (Factory Association) and MDH which contributes towards giving MDH in Eskilstuna a unique range of courses and programmes linked to digitalisation and IT.

The Sörmland Contract offers a unique range of courses and programmes linked to digitalisation and IT

The Sörmland Contract is a collaboration between Eskilstuna Municipality, Eskilstuna Fabriksförening (Factory Association) and MDH which contributes towards giving MDH in Eskilstuna a unique range of courses and programmes linked to digitalisation and IT.

The goal of this venture is that:

  • MDH has a well-developed range of courses and programmes directed towards digitalisation and IT.
  • The Sörmland Contract has contributed towards attractive and relevant courses and programmes based on the labour market’s needs.
  • Close collaboration with the private and public sectors is included in the courses and
  • Eskilstuna and Sörmland are attractive places where companies and students want to stay and develop.


Investments in six areas

Industry 4.0

Five new courses and several existing ones in the M.Sc. programme in Production and Product Design have been adapted towards digitalisation and industry 4.0.

A new Bachelor’s programme in Applied AI with a focus on AI-based systems and computer security, starting in the autumn semester 2020.

Interaction Design, as a new programme in Information Design, starting in the autumn semester 2020. Increased digitalisation in the Master’s programme in Innovation and Design.

Health and Welfare Engineering

A new Master’s programme in Health and Welfare Engineering starting in the autumn semester 2020. There are features of health and welfare engineering in all the programmes in health and welfare at MDH.​

Health Robotics

Three new courses in Health Robotics are being introduced into the M.Sc. programme in Robotics. Four courses on the programme are being adapted to include links to Health Robotics.
