Career Days - personal meetings between employers and students

MDH arranges a number of career- and programme days where students and employers can meet. The purpose of these days is to give the students knowledge of the labour market and valuable contacts, as well as to give employers the opportunity to be seen and to recruit future employees.

A career- or programme day is arranged annually during the period February – March. These days are directed towards different target groups and are therefore designed in different ways. However, they have the following in common:

  • They give the students knowledge of the labour market (different sectors and employers)
  • They give employers the opportunity to be seen and to get in touch with students
  • They make things easier when recruiting
  • They are free of charge
  • Students in all years of the study programmes have the opportunity to participate.
  • The alumni (former students) of the programmes are invited to take part

Recurring career- and programme days

  • Career Day for nursing students
  • Career Day for teacher- and pre-school teacher students
  • Behavioral Students Day

These days are arranged every year alternately in Eskilstuna and Västerås. MDH’s goal is to try to accommodate as many actors as possible during the day, but the number of exhibition stands is limited. Invitations are sent to the ones who were contact persons for that day in the previous year. If you haven’t participated previously but would like an invitation, please send an email stating your request and contact details to karriartorget@mdh.se.

Exhibition stands for direct contact with the students

At the Career Plaza’s exhibition stands in Eskilstuna and Västerås, employers can book a stand free of charge to be available to meet students and future employees face to face.

Centrally situated at our campuses in Västerås and Eskilstuna are the Career Plaza’s permanent exhibition stands. Here employers have the opportunity to meet students, inform them about job vacancies, and receive their expressions of interest. The Career Plaza informs MDH’s students by means of a calendar at mdh.se of what employers are there and what they are offering as employers.

Let a student do the work

More and more employers are realising the advantages of involving students. A student has new research-based knowledge and can often assist in developing the organisation. Letting a student do their degree project with you can therefore be a winning concept.

All students do an independent project towards the end of their studies. This is called a degree project and is an independent project or essay, depending on the specialisation and tradition of the subject. The degree project may be based on a suggestion from an employer, but it can also be a study on the student’s own initiative. For the student, the degree project is an opportunity to test their knowledge under supervision.
