Rules of conduct
Rules of conduct at the Mälardalen University Library.
Adopted by the Library Director, in effect from February 7, 2008.
1. Work environment
The library is the work environment for many students, teachers, researchers and the library staff.
Please respect the right of other library users to work without disturbances and keep conversations at a low level. Complete silence must be practiced in reading rooms and silent areas.
2. Cell phones
Discrete cell phone conversation is allowed if ringtones and other "cell phone noise" are turned off.
3. Food and drink
Having a full meal on the library premises is not allowed, whereas fruits, candy and beverages are permitted. If you would like to eat your lunch, please use the student kitchenettes at the university.
4. Environmental issues
Please throw mugs or other trash in the trash cans provided for the purpose.
Library computers or study places can be used by library users aged 18 or older. The computers are intended for information searches related to university programmes and courses.
Computers or study places in the library may not be left unattended for more than 15 minutes.
Neither money collection nor lists of signatures may be performed in the library.
No posters are allowed in the library.
8. Disciplinary measures
The university library may suspend anyone who disturbs the library activities according to the Higher Education Ordinance (Högskoleförordningen).
