The Programme

Innovative development involves complex processes. To conduct design for future needs requires substantial specialized knowledge combined with a broad understanding of all involved knowledge fields. In this master's program, you will use methods and approaches that enable these development processes and reflect individual and group based on these experiences.

Programme Overview

The Master’s programme in Innovation and Design is a is a multidisciplinary programme that aims to give both multidisciplinary and in-depth studies in the three first-cycle subjects of Information Design, Innovation Technology, and Product and Process Development.
The overall objective of the programme is to create a common and deeper knowledge environment as a starting point for research as well as skilled managerial work in the private and public sectors within the field of innovation and design. In the various programme courses the work is focused on innovation and design from different perspectives, such as the creation of information, products, and services of various kinds. Technology and the social sciences are brought together and offer unique opportunities of learning about process and project work from different perspectives. In the programme the focus is on processes and multidisciplinary projects in cooperation with the private sector and the surrounding community. The programme promotes innovations by creating unique meetings between students in different fields and in cooperation with parties within the culture, care and industrial sectors.

Employment and Future Prospects

After completing the program you will be very competitive in the national and international job market. To critically analyze and deal with complex problems and situations, creatively and systematically, even with scant information are very valuable abilities of today and future working life. After your studies you will also have acquired knowledge required to participate in research and development work or other types of work at an advanced level.
