About me - Gunnlaugur Magnússon
I am a Ph.D student in education with focus on special education and a lecturer in special education and education.
I have a teacher exam from Akureyri University, Iceland (2002) and a master’s degree in International and Comparative Education from Stockholm University (2004). His teaching is within special education and the teacher education, on topics such as inclusion, children in need of special support, structures and reforms of education systems, systems theory and ecology of development, research and methodology and theories on learning and education.
My research is conducted within the projects “Independent schools’ work with children in need of special support” and “Special occupations? - a project about special teachers and special education needs coordinators (SENCOs) work and education” both financed by the Swedish Research Council.
Other interests include educational philosophy and philosophy of science.
