To give knowledge of basic thermodynamics and fluid mechanics in order to understand how thrust and shaft power are generated in aircraft power plants, with emphasis on turbine engines for aeroplanes. This knowledge will enable basic performance analysis of aircraft engines. Together with the course on Aircraft Systems Technology, this course gives a comprehensive overview of turbine and piston engine propulsion systems and their installation.

Special eligibility

Introduction to Aeronautical Engineering, 7,5 credits, Physics of Heat and Physics of Waves, basic course, 7,5 credits or equivalent.

Selection

University credit points, grades from upper secondary education/result Swedish National University Aptitude Test.
