Working in Sweden as a student

If you are a student from an EU country you are allowed to enter gainful employment during your period of study and you do not need a specific work permit.

If you are a student from any other country outside the EU, you may work during the period that you have a residence permit for studies. You don't need a special work permit. If you have applied for an extension of your residence permit for studies, you may continue to work while waiting for the result of your application if:
* you made your application while your earlier permit was valid and,
* you have had a residence permit for studies for at least six months
