Free travel between Eskilstuna and Västerås

As a student at Mälardalen University you have free travel between our two campuses in Eskilstuna and Västerås.

Note: In v.51, v.52 and v.1, there are deviations from normal schedule

Week 51-regular service from Monday to Thursday. No busses Friday, December 24th (Christmas Eve)

Week 52 - separate schedules for Monday 27 dec - Thursday, December 30 Except Fridays 31 Dec (New Year's Eve). Separate schedule for w.52 are further down the page under the heading "Separate timetable during week 52"

Week 1 - no traffic Thursday, January 6 (thirteen day)

Information about the buses

The free travel is valid Monday - Friday throughout the autumn semester, from 30th of August 2010 to 12th of June 2011. Use your personal MDH-card as a ticket.

All students and staff are guaranteed seats on the buses between the campuses.

The buses have internet access and during the morning trips TV's morning broadcasts will be shown.

Deviations from the regular timetable 2011

Week 1: Regular traffic Monday – Wednesday och Friday. No buses Thursday 6 january (trettondagen)

At the start of the semester

To exploit the free travel you must show your personal MDH card for staff on the bus.

Remember that the MDH-card must be updated each semester with a current semester sticker to be valid. New semester stickers can be obtained at the information center about 24 hours after you have registered on your course. If you can not show a valid ticket, you can not use the travel opportunities.

Regarding guaranteed seating from Kvicksund

To be guaranteeded a seat from Kvicksund, passangers who are travelling fom Kvicksund to Eskilstuna or Västerås must call Axelssons to reserve a seat. You have to do this at least one hour prior departure from the trainstation in Eskilstuna or Västerås.

This must be done since it is the law that all passengers have a seat during the trip. This means that you might not be permitted an board the bus if it is full.

You do not have to reserve a seat on the departures at 06.00, 07.00, 17.15 or 18.15.

At the start of the semester

At the start of the semester, a temporary ticket in combination with a valid photo ID, is valid for a ticket. The temporary travel ticket is valid for a period of four weeks at the beginning of the semester. It can be collected at the information center after your registration. In addition, students with MDH-cards with a semester sticker from previous semester can use that as avakid ticker the first four weeks of the semester.

Lost belongings

If you forget anything on the buses you have to contact the bus company, Axelssons buss.

Safety on board the buses

All buses are equiped with safety belts. You must use the safety belt, for your own safety as well as others'.

Pets and bicycles

On account for allergies, it is not allowed to bring pets on board the buses. You can not bring your bicycle either. If you have bulky luggage, please contact Axelssons to see if it is OK for you to bring it.
