Research for Reality
Mälardalen University focuses on research of value and benefit. This often means that we research in cooperation with companies, organisations and public operators, together to find solutions, develop products or to produce new knowledge.
We see ourselves as an important player in the innovation system both regionally, nationally and internationally through research cooperation. We find interesting problems and relevance for many of our research fields in research cooperation. We are able to take advantage of competencies and resources which are not accessible within the University.
The findings that emerge in our research can also be directly applied among our cooperation partners, a thing which raises their level of technology and knowledge. The research findings are quickly commercialised.
External cooperation is also very important financially for the University. 65% of our total research budget is externally funded. A large part of this external funding builds on projects involving cooperation with companies and the public sector.
Grants Office
The Grants Office can help to make contact with researchers for research cooperation, direct research commissions or perhaps to look for someone who can act as a sounding board. The services you can obtain through the Grants Office are described in more detail on our pages about research funding. There you will also find information about current activities and calls for papers, as well as research financiers.
