Product Architecture Towards handling products in flexible assembly systems
Objectives
- Establishing a process to investigate; “Key product requirements that are essential for handling different products in flexible assembly system”.
Current status
- A case study in five manufacturing plants has been carried out. The research study suggests an operational definition for flexible assembly, its characteristics and challenges.
- Planning is underway for future research studies with focus on both flexible assembly concept as well as product requirements in flexible assembly system.
