Virtual assembly , Utilisation of virtual models of the product into assembly production activities
Objectives
- Examine use of virtual models in assembly production in order to shorten development times, lower prototype costs and improve product quality.
Current status
- Have performed a study at the assembly production departments at Scania and their vision on possible use of the virtual models in the Product development process.
- Shall decide the exact research area. During summer 2013 one specific area within Virtual Assembly is to be chosen and research questions be established.
Planned activities
- Summer 2013: Decide the future research area within Virtual Assembly.
