In 2002 I earned PhD in Health Care Pedagogies and became Senior Lecturer in Caring Science at Malardalen University. I have also been Director of Studies for the Nursing Program for four years. In 2010 I became associate professor at the same university.

My research experiences concern being superviser for four doctoral students. Focus for my own research concerns the phenomenon of rest and its importance for humans´ health. I also have developed a method for concept development based on a life world perspective and rest is one concept that was developed. Another focus for my research is issues in nursing education, such as the main field of study, its structure and content, and student nurses growing in caring during education.
