Regina Ylvén work as a Lecturer in Social Work at the School of Health, Care and Social Welfare
Regina is a behavioral scientist and has a master’s degree in special education. Since 2002, she has been working at Mälardalen University as a research assistant, and later with research and teaching. Main subjects are methodology, family-, and systems theory, and are also working with supervising essays at the Social Work Program. She is also involved in two research projects, one about coordinated support for parents of children with disabilities, and one about the life of children living in women’s shelter.
Regina is writing a doctoral thesis. The overall aim of the thesis is to increase the understanding of how families of children with disabilities manage the challenges they encounter in every-day life. The focus is on families problem solving and coping strategies in relation to stressors, and in relation to the activities provided by professionals at the Child and Youth Habilitation Services (C-YHS).
