About me - Anna Niia

Doctoral student in Social work

I am a behavioral scientist with a master’s degree in psychology. During my master’s year I became interested in research and came into contact with researchers and doctoral students in the research group CHILD.

Research project: ”Participation in school for children in socially challenged areas”, a project where children, teachers, and parents have rated children’s participation in school and at home during three years’ time. The aim is in part to investigate similarities and differences between children’s self-rated participation and teacher ratings and effects this might have on children’s grades. In part the aim is also to investigate how students’ apprehension of their participation develops over time. The research project will contribute to a greater understanding of children’s apprehension of their own participation seen in relation to living in a socially challenged area.

I am enrolled as a doctoral student in Social work since 2007 at the University of Health Sciences in Jönköping. My supervisors are professor Mats Granlund (HHJ), professor Elinor Brunnberg (MDH) and associate professor Lena Almqvist (MDH).

Planned disputation: Year 2013
