My background before I began my research is a long-term management and professional experience in state and local government. Academically, I am a B.A. in sociology and political science. I also have a Masters degree in Innovation Management from Mälardalen University..

My research interest is innovation and business development in the public sector. I am particularily interested in the production of welfare services, such as preschools, schools, social services and care of the elderly. In my thesis I focus on the study of innovation processes in these activities. It may for example be about how employees and managers are involved, the obstacles and opportunities they see and how you can increase their ability to work with everyday innovation and business development. 

My research is interdisciplinary and three academies at Mälardalen University are involved, HST, HVV and IDT. Several cities and municipalities are also involved in the project.
