Research environments
The School of Health, Care and Social Welfare is the host school for one of the University’s six prioritized research and educational areas: Health and Welfare.
Within the area, there are four research environments, which are under revision:
Life and Health of the Elderly
Comparative Welfare Studies and Evaluation
Each research environment involves professors and docents, junior researchers, as well as doctoral and/or licentiate students. The environments are dynamic and continuously developing, depending on people’s competence.
The research programmes
The research environments comprise a number of research environments, which in turn comprise a variety of projects. The research programmes overlap on some occasions, which provides an opportunity for cooperation and coproduction between the environments. An example is the programme “Nursing and Care at Home” within the environment Life and Health of the Elderly, which has connections with the programme “Pets as Promoters of Health” within the Local Public Health Work environment.
