The Disciplinary Board
The Higher Education Ordinance dictates that a disciplinary board shall exist at all institutions of higher education. The task of the disciplinary board is to handle matters regarding disciplinary measures that arise in connection with the University’s activities.
By law. the board must consist of the University’s Vice-Chancellor, a legally trained member, who is or has been a judge in a court of law, and a representative of the teachers at the University. The University’s students are entitled to appoint two members to the disciplinary board.
The Higher Education Ordinance states that discipline measures can be taken for four different types of offense. The information on this web-site about these offenses is not exhaustive but provides some examples of the different types of offense and a little information about assessing whether an offense has been committed. It is always the specific circumstances of the individual case that are to be assessed.
