External Relations Office
The University has a clear ambition and a sincere desire to expand cooperation with regional industries, the public sector, authorities and organisations. The External Relations Office is one of the tools for succeeding in this endeavour.
The External Relations Office (EER) is the interface between Mälardalen University, society at large and the business community. The strategy of the University is to offer knowledge, new ideas and opportunities for cooperation of many different kinds. The EER aims to stimulate and encourage the connection between the University and the region, so that we can co-produce concretely useful things.
Promoting contacts and arranging meetings
The EER welcomes all parties who would like to cooperate with the University and help bring about academic contacts – with students, teachers and researchers. One of the most important tasks is to arrange meeting places for companies, the public sector representatives and University researchers and students, in order for them to be able to share knowledge and needs and co-produce new ideas and enhanced knowledge. This leads to more exchange and common good for all parties.
Major cooperative projects
The EER also works as an internal support function for University employees who are aiming for collaboration with industry, with the public sector agents or within international EU projects. There are a number of forward-looking and rewarding collaborative projects today in different parts and on different levels of the University which are coordinated through the EER. Some examples are Robotdalen (Robot Valley), Automation Region, MinST and the Social Contract.
Benefits for students at the University
The EER also works to help and support University students who are about to leave the University and enter the job market. The EER distributes degree projects, summer jobs, project ideas and contacts with potential employers. The EER also offers tools through Idélab for those who would like to start their own company and realise their best ideas. You do not have to know about the internal organisation of the University to get in touch; the EER helps visitors find their way.
