About honorary doctors at MDH

An honorary doctor is a person with whom the University has contact in some way in its research activities or with whom we would like to establish contact. The honorary doctors are appointed by the Faculty Board on the recommendation of the University staff. From April 2013 Mälardalen University will have 20 honorary doctors.

Since 2012 MDH has presented its honorary doctors on a special day, the Honorary Doctors’ Day. There the opportunity is offered to attend a colloquy between the honorary doctors and the teaching staff, as well as an open lecture. This is an annually recurring arrangement and will be held the next time on the day before the Academic Ceremony, i.e. 25 April 2013, when MDH will be receiving three new honorary doctors.
