About me
My name is Johan Lindmark and I am a PhD student in Energy and Environmental Engineering at Mälardalen University.
About my research
I started my PhD studies in the BioGasOpt project in May 2008. This project is closely connected with the Växtkraft biogas plant here in Västerås and I am using this plant as a case study when conducting my research. I have been studying how the biogas process works in both theory and in practice and have firsthand experience about which problems that can arise in day to day operation and what goals and long time development plans that is interesting for a biogas plant.
During my studies I have been looking on different ways to optimize a biogas plant. In short I have been working with CFD simulations and different types of experimental setups to evaluate the process and ways to enhance the performance of a biogas plant.
I have been doing practical lab work with the students on how heat exchanger and heat pumps works, different ways of doing moisture measurements and how to do particle measurements in a real combined heat and power plant.
I am always looking for potential research partners, thesis workers and different ways of improving the biogas process so do not hesitate to contact me if you have any proposals for cooperation or suggestions on ways to improve the plant.
Other activities
I am active in the PhD council to try and improve the quality of the PhD studies and to improve the working conditions for me and my fellow students. I am also a part of the bioenergy group that connects different researchers working with biomass and conversion processes.
