This area has sustainable development in focus and acknowledges that all human activity and economic activity must be held within the natural boundaries in order to maintain an evolution in balance. This is achieved in a multidisciplinary collaboration, where technology, ecology and economics are taken into account.
The profile is one of Sweden's strongest environments in process optimization targeting the process industry and the energy sector, and has good relationships with both companies and recognized national and international centers, including several Chinese universities. The profile comprises eight professors, a further eleven senior researchers and more than forty graduate students.
