According to a President decision of 2005-09-01:

• all licentiate theses and doctoral theses published 2001 onwards shall be registered in DiVA
• all licentiate theses and doctoral theses published 2006 onwards shall be published in full text in DiVA
• all research publications 2004 onwards shall be registrered in OPUS

In the autumn of 2008 the two systems DiVA and OPUS were merged into one new system named DiVA. In DiVA all documents published by researchers and students at Mälardalen University can be registered and published.

The separate Schools of Mälardalen University decide if student theses are to be published in DiVA.
